I started teaching my fellow classmates about bees at the ripe age of five. I grew up trailing behind my dad on his bee adventures before branching off on my own. I started with one small Eco Bee Box in my backyard. Before long I was not only tending to my own hives, but over 100 hives around Santa Barbara county. I have taught classes, presented to schools, and mentored anyone interested in the world of beekeeping.
I practice natural treatment-free beekeeping. My philosophy focuses on the health of the bees and the surrounding ecosystem rather than the amount of products being extracted from a hive. I do not use chemicals, rather I find natural ways to improve the health of the bees if needed.
I hold a Master's degree in Education where I concentrated on the importance of outdoor education in schools. My educational philosophy focuses on exposing children to the wonders of the great outdoors to help them connect on a more personal level. My goal is to spread awareness and education while reframing fear into curiosity.
